The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has provided insights into the unfortunate passing of Nollywood legend, John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu.
The news of Mr Ibu's demise on March 2 left fans and colleagues in shock and sorrow, attributing it to a prolonged medical condition that eventually led to the amputation of his leg.
In a somber announcement on his official Instagram page, Emeka Rollas revealed the heartbreaking news that Mr Ibu succumbed to a cardiac arrest, as relayed by his longtime manager, Don Single Nwuzor.
Emeka Rollas expressed deep grief, sharing that it was indeed a sad day for the Actors Guild of Nigeria, especially as Nigerian actress Kate Henshaw also lost her mother on the same day.
In his words: "Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered a cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor. I announce with a deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn't make it. May his soul rest in peace. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭"
