Least Expected is the second studio album by Nigerian Afropop and R&B duo Bracket, made up of Vast (Nwachukwu Ozioko) and Smash (Ali Obumneme). Released in 2009 under Ape Planet, the album became the project that firmly established Bracket as one of the notable music groups of Nigeria's late-2000s pop era.

The album arrived after the group had originally started as a trio and later continued as a duo following the departure of Bistop. Their first album, Happy Day, was released in 2006, but it was Least Expected that brought them widespread national recognition.

The project's title proved fitting. Its biggest song, “Yori Yori,” became an unexpected breakthrough for the duo. The song, whose title refers to “sweetness” in Igbo, combined romantic lyrics with a highly infectious melody and danceable production. Bracket themselves later acknowledged that they did not anticipate just how successful the song would become.

Least Expected contains nine tracks, including “Yori Yori,” “No Time” featuring P-Square, “Leaders of Tomorrow,” “Ada Owerri” featuring J Martins, “Gossip,” “Maronumo,” “Do As I Do,” “Dis Beat” featuring Storm Rex, and “All My People.”

Beyond “Yori Yori,” the album produced other popular songs. “No Time,” featuring P-Square, benefited from the collaboration between two prominent Nigerian music groups of the period, while “Ada Owerri” featuring J Martins added another recognizable name to the project. “Dis Beat,” featuring Storm Rex, also demonstrated Bracket's willingness to work with emerging talent.

The album's impact was significant enough for Least Expected to receive a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2010 Hip-Hop World Awards, alongside major projects such as P-Square's Danger, Wande Coal's Mushin 2 Mo' Hits, Darey's Un.Darey.Ted, and Dagrin's C.E.O. “Yori Yori” was also nominated for Song of the Year.

Commercially, the album transformed Bracket's profile. By September 2009, Vanguard reported that the duo had dominated the Showtime Charts for six consecutive months, with “Yori Yori” remaining the project's standout hit while “No Time” and “Ada Owerri” provided additional momentum.

More than a decade later, Least Expected remains an important album in the history of Nigerian pop music. It captured the sound of the country's late-2000s Afropop movement and gave Bracket their defining hit. With its blend of romance, melody, collaborations and dance-oriented production, the album became the foundation for the duo's continued success and paved the way for their next studio album, Cupid Stories, in 2011.
