Sharing her experience on X (formerly Twitter), the lady explained that the widow had initially commented on Instagram, appealing for assistance in the form of food or even used clothes for her children.

Moved by compassion, she decided to reach out privately and offered the woman ₦50,000 as Christmas support.

However, the situation took a surprising turn when the widow responded that the money would not be enough, explaining that she also needed to pay her house rent in addition to providing for her children.

Narrating the exchange, the lady wrote: “So this lady on Instagram commented saying she needed even if it’s used clothes and food for her kids for Christmas that she was a widow. I reached out, offered her 50k, tell me why she’s saying it won’t be enough cos she has to pay rent too💀🥲 Nigerians.”

The post quickly went viral, drawing attention from users who found the widow’s response both shocking and amusing.
