In addition to the rescue of the worshippers, President Tinubu confirmed the safe recovery of 51 students who had been abducted from a Catholic school in Niger State. The students were reportedly taken by armed bandits while traveling from their school premises, but thanks to the swift and persistent actions of security operatives, all have been returned to their families unharmed. Tinubu emphasized that he has been receiving continuous updates from the frontline teams to ensure the safety of all citizens in affected areas.

The president also revealed that he had canceled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate security measures within the country.
