A Nigerian pastor has taken to social media to express deep distress and frustration after suspected thieves allegedly broke into his church premises and carted away several valuable items ahead of a scheduled night vigil programme.
The unfortunate incident, which has since generated reactions online, was disclosed by the cleric in an emotional video shared on TikTok, where he narrated how he discovered the theft.

According to the pastor, the burglary occurred while preparations were ongoing for the church’s overnight prayer programme, described as his final Holy Ghost all-night vigil for the year.
Thieves break into church
He revealed that unknown intruders gained access to the church building and made away with an air-conditioning fan and multiple sound speakers that had been positioned close to the altar for worship and ministration.
The pastor further disclosed that the thieves did not stop at stealing equipment alone, as they also located the church’s fuel supply, which had been fully stocked, and completely drained it before leaving the premises.
He lamented that the stolen items were essential for church activities and had been carefully arranged in anticipation of the vigil.
Disrupts plans of vigil
The pastor explained that the theft has significantly disrupted plans for the night vigil and placed an unexpected financial and emotional burden on the church leadership and members.
Visibly shaken, he questioned why the church would be targeted, expressing concern over how the programme would proceed without the stolen instruments.
He said …
“What has the church done to deserve all this? People of God, God bless you. Today is my last Holy Ghost All night for the year. I just came into the church now with good news and I said let me come and check the sound system and also do some prayers before I leave. Coming to the church, thief has entered the church. Thief has carried speaker, AC fan, they also carried another speaker that stays here (points fingers). I don’t know who is after the church. This is all night vigil and I don’t know where I will get instruments. There was fuel here, filled up. Now it’s empty.”
The video has since drawn sympathy from social media users, with many condemning the act and calling for better security around places of worship.
