A Nigerian man has taken to social media to recount a shocking and heartbreaking discovery he made about his wife and their daughter’s school fees, after learning that she had allegedly been collecting far more money than the school actually charged.
In a post that has since gone viral on X (formerly Twitter), shared by @AsakyGRN, the distressed man revealed that he had been faithfully sending the sum of ₦480,000 to his wife for his daughter’s education, trusting that she was paying the school directly without any issues.
According to him, the truth came out during a casual complaint he made about the burden of paying such high fees while still being given numerous assignments to assist with at home.
In his words, he said:
“Today, I was complaining about the assignments, telling them I can’t be paying ₦480k while they still give me assignments.
They then told me, ‘No, our school fees is ₦145k.’ I was in shock. I just had to park somewhere to think about my life. Men, learn from my experience. I am in pain right now.”
Stunned by the revelation, the man decided to investigate further by personally visiting the school to confirm the actual amount being paid on behalf of his daughter.
To his utter disbelief, he discovered that only ₦145,000 had indeed been paid as school fees, confirming that a huge difference had been unaccounted for all along.
He further explained that his wife had initially visited three different schools before settling for what she described as the “best option,” which she claimed was the most expensive. According to her, she made the decision because she wanted to give their daughter the “best life” possible.
However, when the man began questioning the frequent assignments and other issues surrounding the school, he never expected that it would expose the truth about the actual amount being paid. The discovery left him devastated, confused, and feeling deeply betrayed by someone he trusted completely.
The emotional confession sparked massive reactions on social media, with users expressing shock, anger, sympathy, and disbelief over the situation.
