A Nigerian man has narrated what he described as one of the most heartbreaking experiences of his life after making huge personal sacrifices to support his former girlfriend’s relocation to the United Kingdom.
The man, identified on social media as @sidney_sbm, shared his story on the microblogging platform X, where his post quickly drew attention and sympathy from many users.
According to his account, he sold his car and drained all his savings in order to finance his girlfriend’s travel, relocation, and initial settlement abroad, believing he was investing in their shared future.
However, his sacrifice reportedly turned into regret when the relationship came to an abrupt end just two months after she arrived in the UK.

To support his claims, he shared a series of screenshots showing conversations between him and his girlfriend both before her relocation and a few months after she had settled overseas.
In the messages exchanged before her trip, the girlfriend expressed gratitude for his support after he sold his car to fund her relocation, while also admitting that she felt bad about the extent of his sacrifice and warning that he might eventually regret it.

Sadly, his fears became reality. Two months after relocating, the girlfriend informed him that she had changed and was no longer certain she felt the same way about him, effectively bringing the relationship to an end.
The revelation sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users sharing their opinions and offering words of advice and encouragement to the heartbroken man.
