Man discovers extensive illegal electricity tapping

According to Fimbosky21, upon returning to Port Harcourt, he was stunned to discover that every unit in his compound had been diverting electricity from his meter, making him inadvertently responsible for the entire building’s electricity consumption. He described the situation as a blatant act of exploitation, adding that the illegal setup had been ongoing for several weeks, accumulating charges that were unfairly billed to him.

He detailed how the neighbours were seemingly able to bypass standard electricity procedures, connecting all apartments without his consent, which he claimed reflected a total disregard for legal and ethical boundaries. The resident emphasized that this situation not only caused financial loss but also put him in a vulnerable position with the electricity provider, who could hold him accountable for the inflated bills.

Man vows legal action against offenders

Fimbosky21, clearly angered by the discovery, warned that those responsible would face severe consequences. He stated that he would not tolerate the illegal activity and hinted at taking legal action against the perpetrators, declaring that “jail will be unstoppable” for anyone involved in the scheme. His post underlined both his frustration and determination to hold the culprits accountable.

In his own words, he wrote: “Came back to PH to find out that people in my compound have ran an illegal light connection. As it stands, all the apartments in my compound are connected to my meter, and they’ve been using my light since I went to Lagos. This jail will be unstoppable.”

The post has since gone viral, drawing reactions from social media users who expressed sympathy, outrage, and advice on how to handle such illegal activities. Many commented on the prevalence of electricity theft and the challenges faced by homeowners in shared compounds, emphasizing the need for vigilance and legal recourse.
