A heartwarming interaction between a local man and a Fulani herdsman has gone viral on social media after the two reconciled following a tense first encounter. The initial incident occurred when the local man, spooked by the herdsman passing by his window at night, chased him away. The situation, which could have escalated, ended peacefully thanks to the man’s subsequent apology and effort to establish a friendly rapport.
“Don’t be angry. We’re friends”
In a video shared online, the local man approached the herdsman, speaking calmly and respectfully to ease the tension. He said:
“Welldone o. I saw you three days ago when you passed by my window at night when I chased you away. Don’t be angry please. I’m not a troublesome person. Don’t be angry. We’re friends o.”
The herdsman, who identified himself as Aliu from Kano, responded positively, noting that he understood the man’s reaction and did not take offense. He explained that he knew the local man was acting out of fear and unfamiliarity, which prevented the situation from escalating into conflict.
