A young Nigerian lady has sparked widespread conversation online after revealing the shocking list of rules handed to her by a man she had just started a talking stage with.
Sharing the story via her TikTok page, she expressed disbelief that someone she had barely begun talking to could lay down such controlling and extreme guidelines as conditions for continuing the relationship.
Her post, captioned “POV: My talking stage gave me commandments and rules,” quickly went viral, drawing attention to the red flags present in modern dating scenarios.
According to the lady, the man, who identified himself as Richie, had earlier informed her that he would be listing out his preferences when it comes to relationships. When she responded that she was ready to hear them, he proceeded to send her a message titled “My Commandments” which contained eight rigid rules she would be required to follow.
Richie’s “Commandments” included:
Delete every male contact on your phone.If you’re going out, call me on video when leaving and stay on the call until you reach your destination. Remain on the call until you return home.
Stop wearing short clothes. All your clothes, whether gown or skirt, must be three-quarter length.
Stop using your phone excessively. If you’re not calling me, you shouldn’t be on your phone.
Stop attending Winners Chapel. From now on, you must attend my church – Watchman.
You can only call me and your parents, and you don’t need to talk to your parents every day.
Cut off all your male friends. That one named David? Stay away from him. And the one saved as “Blood” – I know he’s not your real brother. Cut him off too.
Avoid everyone else – male or female. I should be the only person you communicate with.
Shocked by the level of control and possessiveness in these so-called “commandments,” the lady rejected his terms outright. She confronted him in their chat, labeling his behavior as excessive and unacceptable.
Her video drew massive reactions on social media, with many users urging her to run far away from such a manipulative individual before things escalate further.
Some even questioned how a talking stage could come with such strict guidelines, while others made humorous comments about the situation.
