According to a post shared by @babyblogger_new on Instagram, the woman, identified as Imisi, had reportedly been owing members of her ajo group for a while and was allegedly avoiding calls and messages demanding that she settle her contribution.

As the pressure from group members increased, she allegedly teamed up with her sister to carry out a dramatic and desperate plan to avoid being held responsible.

The duo reportedly recorded a video showing Imisi lifeless and shared it in their ajo group chat, hoping the members would believe she had passed away and stop asking for their money.

In the now-viral video, [b]Imisi was seen wrapped in white clothes with cotton stuffed in her nose, lying still and expressionless to create the illusion that she was dead.

To further sell the story, her sister reportedly sent a message into the group chat, claiming that Imisi had died after falling into debt and being threatened, a message that shocked and confused several members of the ajo group.

However, it did not take long before the truth allegedly began to surface, as some group members started suspecting foul play and questioning the strange nature of the announcement and the video itself.

The strange incident has since triggered massive online reactions, with many Nigerians describing it as one of the “wildest excuses for debt ever witnessed” and others joking that Imisi deserved an award for “best actress in a financial crisis.”

Several social media users also warned about the dangers of such acts, noting that faking one’s death could attract serious consequences beyond embarrassment and ridicule.

As of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether Imisi has refunded the money or how the matter was resolved within the ajo group, but the story has quickly captured public attention and sparked debates on accountability and desperation.
