A Nigerian lady, identified as Iruoma Chikaodinaka, has shared a revealing incident involving her colleague who reportedly called off her engagement after a troubling Facebook comment made by her fiancé surfaced online.
Iruoma took to Facebook to narrate the details of the situation, which has since sparked conversations about values, red flags, and boundaries in relationships.
Lady calls off engagement
According to Iruoma, the engagement was abruptly called off after the man publicly commented on a social media post in a way that appeared to justify or downplay cheating within a marriage.
She explained that the comment deeply unsettled the woman involved, as it revealed the fiancé’s mindset about infidelity, prompting her to reassess the relationship and its long-term viability.
The woman reportedly felt that such a belief system was incompatible with her own values and expectations in marriage, leading her to return the engagement ring and withdraw from the planned union.
Iruoma shared the story while reacting to a separate but related incident online, where a man allegedly cancelled his wedding after disagreeing with a comment made by his fiancée on the trending “Ada Igbo” story circulating on social media.
Drawing parallels between both situations, she highlighted how social media comments can sometimes expose hidden perspectives that partners may not have previously discussed.
