A young Nigerian lady has stirred widespread reactions online after sharing her shocking experience with a TikTok suitor who allegedly threatened her using her unclad photo following a date night that went wrong.

Her story surfaced in a viral video shared by @Abazz on X (formerly Twitter), where she narrated how she met the man roughly two months before her birthday and how their online conversations initially appeared genuine and promising.

According to her, the connection grew steadily as they chatted frequently, building what she believed was mutual interest and trust.

As her birthday approached, they eventually agreed to meet in person, with the man assuring her that he wanted to make the day special and celebrate her in style.

However, things took an unexpected turn on the day of the planned meeting when she tried contacting him and received no response for several hours.

She later heard from him, claiming that he had been arrested and was currently in police custody, a development that immediately raised concern.

The man reportedly pleaded with her to send ₦30,000, promising to refund the money once they finally met, as he claimed the funds were urgently needed to resolve his situation.

Moved by his story and trusting his assurances, she sent the money.

Later that same day, he contacted her again and asked her to come over to the hotel where he was staying, suggesting that everything had been settled.

She explained that the following morning, after stepping out briefly, he reached out once more to ask what she wanted to eat.

When she replied, he allegedly requested an additional ₦5,000, claiming that his bank account was having issues and he needed cash urgently.

After returning home and recounting the entire experience to a friend, she was advised to ask for a refund, as it appeared the money she had sent was used to cover hotel expenses.

Upon demanding her money back, the situation reportedly escalated.

According to her, the man responded by sending a “view once” message.

When she opened it, she realized it was a naked photo of herself, which he allegedly used to threaten her into staying silent if she continued asking for a refund.

Her account has since generated mixed reactions online, with many expressing sympathy while others questioned the warning signs.

A social media user commented, “Men of these days are now gigolo,” while another wrote, “How on earth did you not see the signs.”
