A woman [/b]who was deported from the United States after spending a total of 42 years there has sparked widespread emotions online after openly revealing how drastically her life has changed since returning to Haiti.

The woman, identified as Juan, took to social media to share heartbreaking videos showing her current living conditions while appealing to kind-hearted individuals for support as she struggles to rebuild her life from scratch.

Lived in the US Since Childhood

Juan disclosed that she left Haiti as a young child and grew up entirely in the United States, where she built her education, relationships, and livelihood before her sudden deportation.

According to her, the last time she lived in Haiti was when she was just five years old, making her return feel like moving to a completely foreign country.

Speaking emotionally in one of the videos, she said: Good morning, my name is Juan, I’m 47 years old. At 5 years old was the last time I was in Haiti. I’ve lived in the US all my life. I was forced to live back in Haiti due to deportation. My life here is unstable, it’s uncivilized.”

Videos Reveal Harsh Living Conditions

In one of the clips shared on her TikTok page, Juan walked viewers through the small space where she currently resides.

She showed the kitchen area, the bathroom facilities, and even the open spot used for relieving oneself, highlighting the difficult reality she now faces daily.

She further revealed that she is temporarily staying with a woman who kindly offered her shelter despite limited space and resources.

Towards the end of the video, Juan explained her sleeping arrangement in a resigned tone, saying: “We all sleep on one bed.”

“I Lost Everything” — Juan Opens Up

Juan also posted a lengthy written message alongside her videos, opening up about the emotional trauma and physical hardship she has endured since being deported.

In the message, she described losing her home, stability, and sense of security, while expressing gratitude for simply being alive despite the challenges.

It read: “I was living in the U.S. for 42 years. I left Haiti at 5 years old. I was recently deported. I lost everything. I am so grateful for being alive. I have experienced some horrific, life-changing difficulties since being in Haiti. There is no rest. No security. No jobs, especially for a deported person who is foreign to the culture and traditions. It would mean so much to me if I could get the community’s help and support to relocate so that I may find work and eventually return to support my country, Haiti’s economy.”

Struggling to Adjust in a Country She Barely Knows

Juan explained that adapting to life in Haiti has been extremely overwhelming, particularly because she no longer understands the local customs, lifestyle, and social systems after spending most of her life abroad.

She noted that securing employment has proven nearly impossible, leaving her dependent on temporary help from others while she searches for a way forward.

Many social media users who came across her story expressed sympathy, with some calling for humanitarian assistance and others urging authorities and organisations to look into her situation.
