He stressed that his loyalty and commitment to the PDP date back to its foundation, noting that he has consistently contributed to the party’s growth, stability, and electoral successes over the years.

Wike.

Wike made these remarks during a weekend meeting held with members of the PDP’s Board of Trustees and the National Executive Council, which was convened under the leadership of the party’s Acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed.

Wike’s PDP expulsion

The former Rivers State governor was reacting to an alleged expulsion notice reportedly issued by a faction of the party loyal to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

Wike described the move as unacceptable and disrespectful, insisting that he would not sit back and allow individuals who joined the PDP years after him to undermine or dismantle the party he helped build.

“How can those who met me in my house now drag me out? I will never allow it. Ask Bala Mohammed which party he ran under as a senator, because our party has always believed that people who join later can rise to become governors and senators. Now they feel they can chase away those who made sacrifices for the party from its inception and formation. If others tolerated it in the past, we will not allow it now,” he said.

Wike charges stakeholders

The minister further called on PDP leaders and stakeholders to stand firm and defend the party’s core values, warning that internal actions aimed at weakening the party would ultimately fail.

He added that individuals working against the unity, progress, and interests of the PDP would eventually alienate themselves and exit the party on their own.

The high-level meeting was attended by several notable party figures, including former Abia State governor Okezie Ikpeazu, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Uche Nwuche, PDP Acting National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed, National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, as well as Board of Trustees members drawn from various states and the Federal Capital Territory.
