The controversial claim was shared by an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as Nikky Agnes, who alleged that the man publicly announced his decision and openly credited Kanu as the major influence behind it.

In her narration, Agnes stated that the man said his exposure to Kanu’s courage, outspoken nature, teachings, and perceived commitment to truth led him to rethink his beliefs and life philosophy.

According to the viral post, the man reportedly made an emotional declaration, saying: “Because of Nnamdi Kanu, I am converting to Christianity. Because of him, I finally understand what it means to be a true human being. After Allah, Nnamdi Kanu comes first.”

He was further quoted as praising Kanu’s outspoken stance on Biafra and governance in Nigeria, stating: “I have never in my life seen anyone who speaks the truth the way Nnamdi Kanu does — and still ends up in jail simply because he stood by what he believed about Biafra.”

The post also claimed that the man viewed Kanu’s past warnings about Nigeria as prophetic, insisting that current events validate his statements. According to the narration, he said: “Everything he warned Nigeria about is happening today. Every prophecy, every truth, every warning — it has all come to pass.”

Agnes added that the man described Kanu as “a voice of freedom,” “a fearless leader,” and “the greatest of his generation,” arguing that his prolonged detention has only strengthened his influence among followers and sympathisers.

Since the post surfaced, it has continued to attract strong and divided reactions online. While some users expressed skepticism and questioned the authenticity of the claim, others argued that it highlights the depth of Nnamdi Kanu’s influence across religious and ethnic lines despite his continued detention.
