A lady has sparked conversation online after taking to social media to admonish men who refuse to change harmful or destructive habits in their relationships. She drew attention to the example of Nigerian football star Zlatan, noting that he made significant lifestyle changes for the sake of his wife and children, including quitting smoking, stopping clubbing, and prioritising family time over nightlife and personal indulgence.

‘Stop Comparing Yourself to Celebrities’ – Lady warns

In a viral post, the lady challenged men who lack discipline, financial stability, or commitment in their relationships. She emphasised that genuine love and personal accountability, rather than wealth or celebrity status, should motivate men to improve themselves and abandon harmful habits.

“Zlatan stopped smoking because of his wife. He stopped clubbing because of his children. He started sleeping at home. You that don’t have anything in your account, your girlfriend has begged and begged yet you have refused to stop smoking. This isn’t about money; it’s about responsibility, accountability, and showing love,” she stated passionately in the video.

She also criticised men who habitually compare themselves to rich celebrities such as Davido or Wizkid to justify their reckless habits. According to her, these comparisons are excuses that prevent personal growth and accountability.

“You’re saying no lady can change you to stop smoking. I didn’t say you shouldn’t stop smoking. Am I your mother? Why would I tell you to stop? If I end up marrying you, if you die, I’ll marry another person. Is it the same thing they eat you eat? Stop hiding behind excuses of wealth or celebrity lifestyle. Real change comes from responsibility, not money,” she questioned, challenging men to confront their shortcomings.

Social media reactions

@D3_YorubaDemon: “This girl is brutal. Na reverse psychology she dey use. If they beg you no gree, continue smoking, be like Davido, be like Wizkid. Na your wahala be that.”

@EnjoymentMinister: “This one with red eyeballs so? Don smoke wetin no good. I dey feel her point.”

@voice_of_hope commented: “Money didn’t make Zlatan disciplined, accountability did. Stop using rich people as excuses for bad habits. If you can’t listen when love corrects you, wealth won’t save you either. This message hits hard.”

The video has since gone viral, attracting thousands of views and hundreds of comments from social media users who are debating personal responsibility, relationship dynamics, and the influence of wealth or celebrity culture on behavior.
