Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has given a detailed account of his midair confrontation with media personality Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, during a commercial flight. The clash, which has dominated online discussions, reportedly occurred before takeoff and was witnessed by several passengers onboard.

According to VDM, the altercation was not sudden but the culmination of weeks of back-and-forth exchanges between him and Mr Jollof across social media platforms. He claimed that the moment he saw Mr Jollof on the plane, he felt the need to address the tension directly. VDM recounted approaching him and saying, “Today, you will slap me,” referencing the online threats they had previously traded.

Shortly after landing, VDM posted a video and lengthy caption on Instagram, narrating his perspective. He wrote: “MR JOLLOF YOU B!T me, your fellow man. Haba JOLLOF WOULD HAVE KPAI ME IF I DIDN’T DEFEND MYSELF, GOD SAVED ME.” The activist insisted that Mr Jollof initiated physical contact by throwing the first punch, which prompted him to fight back in self-defense.

VDM further alleged that the confrontation intensified when Mr Jollof bit him during the scuffle. He humorously complained that the bite nearly ruined his tattoo and mocked the media personality, saying the teeth “had not been brushed.” His account has since stirred a mix of amusement, shock, and criticism across social media.

Other passengers reportedly stepped in to break up the fight as the situation grew chaotic. Eyewitnesses described the moment as tense, with some travelers shouting in fear while others attempted to restore calm. Despite the commotion, the flight eventually proceeded after crew members intervened and ensured order was restored.

As of this report, the airline involved has not issued an official statement, and Mr Jollof has yet to publicly share his own side of the story. The lack of response from both parties has fueled even more speculation, with users online debating who was at fault and whether the altercation could have been avoided.

The incident continues to trend across X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok, with Nigerians sharing mixed reactions—some condemning the public display of violence, others mocking the saga, and a few calling for accountability from both men involved.
