Popular social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has given a more detailed breakdown of the ongoing Harrison Gwamnishu scandal, revealing that he personally pushed for Harrison’s arrest after verifying the allegations circulating online.
The controversy erupted after claims surfaced that Harrison allegedly diverted funds meant to secure the release of kidnapped victims in Edo State. The revelation left many Nigerians stunned, especially considering Harrison’s reputation as a human-rights advocate.

In a lengthy Instagram post, VeryDarkMan explained that when he first heard about the situation, he immediately made calls to cross-check the story. After confirming the information as true, he advised those involved to keep the matter offline to prevent unnecessary drama, but the information eventually leaked.
“When the whole thing happened, they called me. When they told me, I was shocked, so I made other necessary calls. I spoke to the police, and when the story turned out to be true, I was sad. Immediately, I warned them not to post anything online,” he revealed.
He went on to explain that the man who posted the viral video felt the need to defend himself, claiming the victim’s family had already accused him of collaborating with Harrison to steal the ransom money.
VeryDarkMan strongly criticized Harrison’s ‘debunking’ video, dismissing it as emotional manipulation meant to divert attention from the facts. According to him, the video attempted to justify Harrison’s actions instead of telling the truth.
He also confirmed that Harrison has already refunded the ₦5.4 million in question and is currently in police custody in Benin. VDM warned that if Harrison fails to come clean fully, he will personally expose every detail to the public.
Despite the backlash, VeryDarkMan insisted that his intentions are not driven by envy or competition, but by his commitment to truth and justice. He expressed disappointment, saying he truly believed Harrison had changed and would not be involved in such behavior again.
“If he didn’t release that manipulative video, I probably would’ve stayed quiet. But once he tried to twist the narrative, I knew I had to speak,” he added.
The situation has sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding VeryDarkMan for standing for the truth, while others question the public nature of the dispute and the impact on humanitarian activism in Nigeria.
