During an appearance on Peks Ikeji TV, a clip of which has since gone viral on social media, Uche disclosed that he received ₦2.5 million to launch a coordinated online attack against Davido. He emphasised that his actions were premeditated and part of a broader scheme orchestrated by unnamed parties within the entertainment industry.

He made it clear that the award-winning artist had never personally wronged or offended him in any way, highlighting that his criticism was purely transactional and not motivated by personal grievances. According to Uche, he was not alone in the operation, revealing that approximately five influencers were paid to troll Davido during the campaign, indicating a coordinated online effort to damage the singer’s reputation temporarily.

In his heartfelt apology, Uche said:

“I want to use this opportunity to apologise to Davido. I was paid to ridicule you, your wife, your family on social media. I am not the only one; we were like five influencers. I sincerely apologise. Please forgive me. I collected ₦2.5 million to ridicule you. I am sorry.”

Uche further explained that his conscience would no longer allow him to remain silent, describing his previous behaviour as wrong, unnecessary, and deeply regrettable. He expressed remorse for the emotional impact his actions may have caused, stressing that he has learned an important lesson about accountability and integrity in the public sphere.

The revelation has sparked a wave of reactions online. Some social media users commended Uche for his honesty and courage to publicly admit wrongdoing, while others were taken aback by the magnitude of paid online bullying within the entertainment industry. Comments ranged from support to astonishment, with one user stating, “One after the other you all will start confessing. OBO for life,” while another remarked, “This entertainment industry is deep oo, it is well.”

Uche Maduagwu’s admission has reignited a broader conversation about the prevalence of paid online attacks and cyberbullying targeting celebrities, highlighting the complexities and ethical concerns within Nigeria’s entertainment sector. Many observers noted that such revelations underscore the need for transparency, accountability, and responsible use of influence on social media platforms.

The video of Uche’s confession continues to circulate widely, capturing the attention of fans, followers, and critics alike, as discussions on social media evolve around celebrity influence, morality, and the consequences of monetized trolling in the entertainment industry.
