It would be recalled that the Afrobeats singer had sent out a couple for sleeping during his concert, an incident that triggered heavy backlash from some fans, with calls for people to boycott his shows. While many saw Burna Boy’s reaction as harsh, others defended him, arguing that showing such disrespect at a live concert was unacceptable.

Terry G slams critics

Reacting strongly to the clip, Terry G questioned the logic behind attending a music concert only to fall asleep during a live performance. He argued that artists put in enormous effort to entertain their audiences, and being treated with such disinterest is discouraging and disrespectful.

Terry G further opined that Burna Boy was only facing such massive criticism because of his fame and influence, stressing that smaller artists would not have attracted such reaction for taking similar action. According to him, public figures are often judged more harshly for issues that would be ignored if it involved ordinary individuals.

Terry G compares incident with Church

He stated that if the same situation occurred in a church, ushers would have immediately woken up the person sleeping, yet people expected Burna Boy to overlook it simply because he is an entertainer. He insisted that no one would tolerate such behaviour in places regarded as serious or sacred, so concerts should receive the same level of respect.

According to Terry G, moments like this are often deliberately captured and circulated to discredit an artist and damage their public image. He believes people attend shows with hidden intentions, waiting for any small incident that could be used to paint the performer in a bad light across social media.

He said …

“Una too like to dey hold people accountable just because say dey don be public figure

If it happened in a church and someone was found sleeping, would the pastors not ask the ushers to wake them up, Because he’s musician, you are going to his show to sleep, so the camera can capture that moment and spoil his show”
