His candid revelation comes amid renewed conversations following the tragic death of young Fuji singer Destiny Boy, as well as growing concerns about the mental, emotional, and spiritual toll that stardom places on upcoming artistes in Nigeria’s entertainment space.

Speaking openly, Sky B admitted that his burning desire to succeed in the industry and attain the same level of recognition enjoyed by top stars of his era pushed him to the edge.

According to him, watching record labels like Mo’Hits Records dominate the music scene, with stars such as Don Jazzy and his artistes rising rapidly, created intense pressure that made success feel like a do-or-die mission.

He disclosed that in 2007, at the peak of his ambition, he asked a close friend to help him obtain the contact details of the Illuminati, believing at the time that it was one of the hidden paths many artistes allegedly used to attain fame, influence, and wealth.

“I sent my guy to get me the contact of the Illuminati in 2007 because I wanted to be like Mo’Hits and Don Jazzy,” Sky B revealed.

The singer further claimed that his friend actually succeeded in getting the contact, adding that several artistes from his generation allegedly joined the group and later rose to massive success within the industry.

Sky B explained that the pressure to “make it” was overwhelming, especially as upcoming artistes constantly watched their peers break through almost overnight, secure endorsements, and enjoy lavish lifestyles, while others remained stuck despite their talent.

He noted that the desperation to escape obscurity and poverty often pushed young artistes into questionable decisions, fueled by rumors, fear of failure, and the belief that talent alone was not enough.

However, Sky B said his life eventually took a different direction, one that forced him to reflect deeply on fame, destiny, personal choices, and the heavy price many people unknowingly pay for success.

His emotional testimony has since sparked widespread conversations online, with many social media users expressing concern about the unseen struggles within the entertainment industry.

Reacting to the revelation, a commentator wrote, “The pressure in the industry is scary.” Another added, “Fame really comes with a price.”
