An old video of popular gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori has resurfaced online following the death of her colleague and senior gospel artiste, Bunmi Akinnaanu, widely known as Omije Ojumi.
The resurfaced clip has sparked widespread conversations on social media, with fans and followers revisiting the late singer’s impact, generosity, and lasting legacy within the gospel music community.
Many viewers expressed emotional reactions after watching the video, describing it as both touching and heartbreaking given the timing of its renewed circulation.
Video resurfaces days After Omije Ojumi’s Death
The video began trending just days after Omije Ojumi reportedly passed away, as tributes, condolences, and personal stories about her continued to flood social media platforms.
In the clip, Yinka Alaseyori was seen addressing a live audience during a stage ministration, where she spoke passionately about her early days in ministry and the people who supported her journey.
She specifically highlighted the role Omije Ojumi played at a critical point in her life, describing the late singer as a woman of rare kindness and generosity.
“She Dashed Me a Car” – Alaseyori Reveals Late Singer’s Kindness
While speaking to the audience, Yinka Alaseyori revealed that Omije Ojumi was the person who gave her her very first car when she was still finding her footing in ministry.
According to Alaseyori, the late gospel singer gave her the car freely, without asking for any form of payment or compensation, a gesture she said she never forgot.
She described Omije Ojumi as a “Good Woman” whose act of kindness came at a time when she needed encouragement and support the most.
She said: “…Mummy Bunmi Akinnanu, Omije Ojumi. Peradventure you did not know, she is the person who gave me my first car ever in ministry. She gave it to me without collecting a dime from me. I mean, she dashed me a car just like that…”
Her testimony drew loud reactions from the audience in the video, reflecting the deep respect many had for the late singer’s selfless nature.
Fans React With Emotions and Criticism
The resurfaced video generated intense reactions online, with many fans expressing sorrow and admiration for Omije Ojumi’s generosity and praying for the repose of her soul.
Several commenters praised the late singer for using her influence and resources to uplift others, describing her as a pillar within the gospel music space.
However, not all reactions were positive, as some social media users criticised Yinka Alaseyori, arguing that such public appreciation should have been emphasized while Omije Ojumi was still alive.
Others went further to allege that Alaseyori initially shared the video on her personal page before deleting it, a move they interpreted as insensitive or lacking sincerity.
These mixed reactions have continued to fuel debates online about gratitude, timing, and public expressions of appreciation.
Omije Ojumi’s Death Linked to Ignored Warnings
Meanwhile, broadcaster Afolabi Peter Murphy had earlier stirred controversy by linking Omije Ojumi’s death to ignored prophecies.
He alleged that certain warnings were given to the late singer but were not taken seriously, suggesting that this may have contributed to her untimely death.
Murphy also referenced other gospel artistes who, according to him, dismissed prophetic warnings and later passed away, a claim that sparked heated discussions online.
