The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has officially tied the knot with Queen Zaynab Ngohemba, the former wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, sparking widespread reactions across social and political circles.
The marriage ceremony and related traditional rites were held in Benue State, where Queen Zaynab was formally welcomed into the Dajoh family home, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of both individuals.
Union Confirmed by Family Member
Confirmation of the marriage came through a social media post shared by Abraham Double-d Dajoh, a known member of the Dajoh family, who publicly announced the union.

In his celebratory message, he described the marriage between the high-ranking federal government official and the former Olori of the Ife Kingdom as “beautiful” and “uncommon,” emphasizing the joy and pride felt within the family.
The announcement quickly attracted congratulatory messages from supporters, political allies, and well-wishers across the country.
Warm Welcome into the Dajoh Family
Queen Zaynab was officially ushered into the Dajoh family home located in Mbakor, Benue State, amid traditional rites and cultural expressions that symbolized acceptance and unity.

Family members expressed their excitement and happiness, describing the event as a moment of pride and celebration for the Dajoh lineage.
The family emphasized that the union represents a new beginning and a strengthening of family bonds.
“We, the entire Dajoh Family, happily join our daddy, uncle and brother, His Excellency, The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume Jugu Dajoh, in welcoming his new and uncommon wife,” the post read.
Appreciation for Supporters
In the same message, the Dajoh family extended appreciation to Senator Akume’s political associates, friends, and supporters for their consistent loyalty and encouragement over the years.

They urged supporters to continue standing by the SGF as he balances public service with this new phase of his personal life.
“We appreciate and thank the fans and supporters of Sen. Akume for always standing by him. We enjoin every one of you to continue to support his Excellency even in this beautiful union with Queen Zaynab,” the post added.
Queen Zaynab’s Cultural Reception
Queen Zaynab, previously known as Olori Wuraola during her 17-month marriage to the Ooni of Ife, which ended in 2017, was received into her new home with deep cultural respect and reverence.

The cultural reception underscored the importance of tradition, unity, and continuity within the family.
Timing of the Marriage Clarified
Amid widespread speculation, rumors emerged suggesting that the wedding ceremony took place on December 24 in Gboko, Benue State.
However, Akume’s spokesperson, Yomi Odunuga, moved to clarify the situation, stating that the marriage itself is not recent.
According to Odunuga, the union is over a year old, and the couple’s appearance together during a Christmas celebration merely reignited public attention.
“I can confirm the marriage. However, contrary to the rumor that the marriage was concretized in Gboko on Christmas Eve when the couple appeared together at an event to celebrate Christmas, it was actually a marriage that is over a year old,” Odunuga said.

Political and Social Buzz
Senator Akume, a former Governor of Benue State and a key figure in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, has continued to make headlines following the public attention surrounding the marriage.
Queen Zaynab, a well-known humanitarian and former royal figure, now steps further into the political and social spotlight alongside the SGF.
The announcement coincided with the festive season, as the Dajoh family extended warm Christmas greetings and New Year wishes to Nigerians, describing the union as a symbol of joy, unity, and fresh beginnings.
