Social media influencer and online personality, Saida Boj, has taken to social media to express her disappointment in Seun Kuti regarding his ongoing public feud with internationally acclaimed Afrobeat singer Wizkid, criticizing the manner in which the younger Kuti has been handling the issue across various social media platforms.
In reaction to the ongoing clash, Saida Boj noted that the public argument between Seun Kuti and Wizkid has escalated far beyond what is necessary, and she expressed concern that the feud is beginning to overshadow the monumental legacy of the late Afrobeats pioneer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, whose work laid the foundation for modern Afrobeat music worldwide.

She explained that Wizkid’s actions have already demonstrated clear respect for Fela, and therefore, Seun Kuti’s continued public reactions and criticisms are largely unnecessary. According to Saida Boj, the younger Kuti’s insistence on debating Wizkid in public forums detracts from the main focus, which should be celebrating Fela’s contributions to music and culture.
“The person wey you dey drag get tattoo of your papa for him body. What does that tell you? Isn’t that enough proof that he knows your father is a legend? Isn’t that enough proof that he respects your father?” she said, highlighting that Wizkid has gone as far as commemorating Fela by having a permanent tattoo of him on his body.

Saida Boj further elaborated that Seun Kuti had unnecessarily taken a matter that was already resolved internally into endless public debates, stressing that respect and admiration for someone’s legacy do not always require public validation. She emphasized that some gestures, like paying tribute to a legendary figure, are already sufficient evidence of respect and should not be contested or debated online.
“These are things you don’t need to prove. Respect is already clear. Dragging it this way only ends up disrespecting Fela’s legacy,” she added, urging Seun Kuti to reconsider how he communicates his disagreements and to avoid actions that might tarnish the memory of his father.

She went on to emphasize that the man in question, Wizkid, has already shown visible admiration for Fela Kuti through symbolic gestures, including having a full tattoo of Fela’s image on his body, and described Seun Kuti’s ongoing reactions as unnecessary drama that contributes little to the conversation surrounding respect and legacy.
“I feel like he’s trying to create drama out of something that is already obvious. The respect is already there, so why make it an issue?” she questioned, adding that such public feuds only serve to distract the public from the positive work both artists continue to do for Afrobeat music globally.
Saida Boj’s statements have resonated with many Nigerians on social media, reflecting a growing sentiment that the ongoing feud between Wizkid and Seun Kuti has escalated unnecessarily, and that the energy spent on public arguments could be better channeled toward celebrating Fela Kuti’s enduring influence and the contributions of contemporary Afrobeat stars.
