Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has revealed that she recently underwent drug tests, months after facing public accusations of substance abuse following her highly publicized separation from her billionaire husband, Ned Nwoko. The tests, she explained, were part of her effort to clear her name and restore her reputation after a challenging period marked by intense media scrutiny and personal upheaval.
In an Instagram post shared with her followers, Daniels described the period as emotionally overwhelming, saying that everything she once held as stable in her life seemed to be falling apart. She shared that the support, love, and understanding she received from her family, friends, and the public helped her remain strong and resilient throughout this difficult season.

The actress explained that her decision to undergo the drug test was motivated by a sense of responsibility to those who have supported her, including her fans, colleagues, and loved ones. “Taking this test isn’t just about clearing my name, it’s about giving a clear and confident voice to those who believe in me,” she said, emphasizing that she was never involved with hard drugs or any of the fabricated stories circulated online. She clarified that the only substance she had ever been associated with was ecstasy, popularly known as Molly, and promised to explain the circumstances behind it at the appropriate time while also indicating plans to pursue legal action against those spreading false claims.
Daniels further stressed that accountability, integrity, and peace of mind have become core values she now prioritizes in her life. She described this period as a journey of self-discovery and personal growth, during which she has become more intentional about the decisions she makes and the path she wishes to follow moving forward.
She shared: “The past few months of my life have been nothing short of heavy. One of those seasons that tries to sit on your chest and ask, ‘So, what are we doing next?’ It has been a major turning point, one that shook me to my core. Everything I had ever known was drowning right in front of me. But here’s the plot twist—I didn’t drown with it. Why? Because I was carried by the overwhelming love, support, patience, and understanding of my family, friends, and members of the general public. And for that, I am forever grateful.”
Daniels explained that repeated media claims labeling her as a drug addict forced her to reflect deeply. “One thing that echoed loudly across the media was, ‘Regina is a drug addict.’ And honestly? I paused, then I checked again. I looked at myself in the mirror repeatedly, searching for this so-called addict. I searched so hard it almost felt like I was going psychic. Because surely, I must be missing something. That’s when it hit me! People often project their fears, insecurities, and negative thoughts onto others. But projection is not reality, and noise is not truth.”
She highlighted the importance of creating her own narrative rather than being defined by other people’s opinions: “Here’s the choice we all have to make: Do you allow yourself to be defined by other people’s opinions, or do you create your own narrative? As for me, I choose the latter every single time. The same mouth that was used to spoil my name is the same mouth that will build it back up.”
Daniels described this chapter of her life as one focused on self-growth and intentional living: “This chapter of my life is now about self-discovery, self-growth, and becoming even more intentional about who I am and where I’m going. I thank God endlessly for His grace, His strength, and His excellence in my life, because if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that He has carried me through it all. I’m still standing, still growing, and just getting started. And yes, we move. Happy new year everyone.”
