During a recent live performance, Portable made a bold statement, claiming that despite the massive success of the song, the YBNL boss did not fully support him or acknowledge his contribution to the track’s international impact.

According to Portable, he expressed his grievances directly, saying:

“Olamide didn’t shoot Zazzo video with me, he didn’t stand with me in the video. I was the one that gave Olamide international recognition. Zazzo made Olamide. Why didn’t Olamide call me for his show?”

Portable further insisted that despite being instrumental in the song’s virality and success, Olamide has seemingly “ignored” him, notably by not inviting him to perform at recent shows and events organized by the veteran artist.

The remarks came shortly after Olamide held a recently sold-out London concert, which featured top artists such as Asake, Seyi Vibez, Darkoo, and several other prominent performers. Portable’s comments, therefore, reignited conversations around recognition, credit, and collaboration in the Nigerian music industry.

Social media immediately reacted to Portable’s statement, with fans and music enthusiasts debating whether his claims were justified or an exaggeration. Clips from the performance were widely shared, generating discussions on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.

A number of commentators criticized Portable, suggesting he was rewriting history, with one saying, “Portable dey always rewrite history. Olamide literally gave him the biggest push of his career.” Others noted that drama seems to follow Portable, with one user writing, “Drama always follows Portable. Na him brand.”

Despite the mixed reactions, Portable’s statement has kept fans talking about the dynamics of credit and fame within the Nigerian music scene, highlighting the tension that sometimes exists between collaborators on high-profile tracks.
