The Lagos State Police [/b]Command has officially stepped into the growing controversy surrounding Pastor Chris Okafor, following a series of public allegations made against the well-known cleric by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.
The police intervention marks a significant escalation in a matter that has dominated conversations across social media platforms and attracted intense public scrutiny in recent weeks.
Commissioner Orders CID to Handle Case
According to confirmed reports, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has issued a directive instructing the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, to immediately take over and conduct a detailed investigation into the allegations.
This directive reportedly came despite earlier statements from police authorities indicating that no formal petition had been submitted by any of the alleged victims at the time.
The move suggests a shift in stance by the police leadership, likely influenced by the scale of public interest and the seriousness of the claims being circulated.
Pastor to Be Invited, Alleged Victims to Be Contacted
Police spokesperson CSP Abimbola Adebisi disclosed that investigators have now been instructed to invite Pastor Okafor for questioning as part of the ongoing inquiry.
She further revealed that officers will also be reaching out to individuals who have publicly made allegations, as well as anyone willing to provide relevant information.
According to her, the aim is to ensure that all sides are heard and that the investigation is conducted in a fair, transparent, and comprehensive manner.

It was gathered that the Commissioner of Police approved the continuation of the investigation even in the absence of an official complaint or written petition.
As part of the fact-finding process, the police reportedly contacted a YouTuber who had earlier interviewed some of the alleged victims, seeking assistance in identifying and reaching potential witnesses.
This step is expected to help investigators gain first-hand access to individuals who may have critical information relevant to the case.

The controversy first erupted in December after actress Doris Ogala made public accusations against Pastor Okafor.
She alleged that she had been involved in a long-term relationship with the cleric since 2017, claims that quickly went viral and triggered widespread reactions online.
