Pastor Kesiena Esiri has openly called out Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo over his decision to officiate and publicly associate with the wedding of Pastor Chris Okafor and his wife, despite allegations surrounding Okafor’s past conduct.
In a strongly worded message that has since gone viral online, Esiri questioned the moral justification behind celebrating the union, describing it as inconsistent with core Christian teachings and values.

According to Esiri, it was troubling that a man he alleged had previously divorced his wife and abandoned her with four children could have his marriage officiated and endorsed by a respected senior cleric without any public accountability.
He further claimed that allegations surrounding Pastor Okafor’s lifestyle prior to the wedding were widely known within Christian circles but were allegedly ignored by influential church leaders who chose to honour and support the ceremony.
Expressing deep disappointment, Esiri questioned how someone widely regarded as a “father of faith” could preside over or endorse such an event without addressing what he described as serious moral concerns.
The outspoken pastor argued that actions like this risk sending a dangerous message to church members, especially younger believers who look up to senior clergy as spiritual and moral role models.

Esiri warned that when biblical standards are compromised for influence, acceptance, or image, it weakens the moral authority of the church and creates confusion among believers about what Christian leadership truly represents.
The controversy is unfolding amid renewed public scrutiny of Pastor Chris Okafor following allegations by actress Doris Ogala, who accused him of marriage betrayal after he shared his pre-wedding photos online.
Reports indicate that the situation escalated significantly, leading to Doris Ogala’s arrest before she was later released following the intervention of social activist VeryDarkMan and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.
The entire episode has reignited heated debates within Christian communities and across social media platforms, with many questioning whether influence, status, and connections are increasingly taking precedence over spiritual integrity and accountability among senior clergy in modern-day Christianity.
