An old video has resurfaced online showing controversial cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, allegedly rendering an elderly woman temporarily blind for about 10 minutes during a church service, an incident that has reignited intense public debate.
The resurfaced clip comes at a time when Pastor Chris Okafor is already embroiled in a heated controversy with Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, further drawing attention to his past actions and conduct.
According to Doris Ogala, she and the pastor were allegedly in a romantic relationship dating back to 2017. The actress has since dragged him to court, demanding ₦1 billion in damages over what she described as a breach of promise to marry.
Beyond the marriage dispute, Ogala has also accused the clergyman of financial exploitation, harassment, and allegedly sharing explicit videos without her consent, claims that have kept the pastor in the spotlight for weeks.

In the resurfaced video, Pastor Chris Okafor was seen calling an elderly woman forward during a church service. While addressing the congregation, he reportedly declared, “If I be a man of God,” before instructing the woman to lose her sight for 10 minutes.
Shortly after his statement, the elderly woman was seen rubbing her eyes repeatedly and appearing visibly disoriented, suggesting she could no longer see clearly. Members of the congregation responded with loud cheers, clapping, and praise songs, seemingly interpreting the act as a display of spiritual power.
After several minutes, the pastor allegedly prayed again, following which the woman appeared to regain her sight, further fueling reactions both within the church and online.
The video has since gone viral, with many Nigerians questioning the authenticity, morality, and spiritual implications of such actions carried out in the name of religion.
