A video featuring popular Nigerian cleric Pastor Chris Okafor has sparked widespread reactions online after he openly shared details about the care and attention he receives from his newlywed wife.
The clip, which has since gone viral across social media platforms, captures the pastor speaking emotionally about a difficult period in his life and how his wife stood firmly by him through it.
Wife’s Support During Emotional Struggles
The video was recorded during a church service and later shared on Instagram by user @ijeomadaisy.
While addressing the congregation, Pastor Chris spoke candidly about the emotional toll he has faced in recent times, particularly amid public controversies involving Nollywood actress Doris Ogala.
According to him, the pressure affected his daily routine and emotional well-being, making his wife’s presence and care even more significant.
“She Checked on Me 20 Times Every Night”
In his testimony, the pastor revealed that his wife would check on him repeatedly every night, sometimes as many as 20 times, just to be sure he was okay.
He explained that these constant check-ins brought him comfort, reassurance, and strength during moments when he felt overwhelmed and unsettled.
The cleric emphasized that her dedication helped him remain calm and emotionally stable despite the challenges surrounding him.
Public Appreciation for His Wife
Pastor Chris did not hesitate to publicly appreciate his wife, whom he fondly referred to as the “first lady,” calling her a major pillar in his life.
He also thanked other family members for their concern and support but stressed that his wife’s commitment stood out the most during that season.
In his words:
“I have to say this. It has not been easy. I have not been able to eat, barb my hair nor shave. I want you to also help me thank my family members, especially the first lady. She will check on me 20 times at night. ‘Are you okay? Don’t worry. I’m here for you.’ Please first lady come, I want to appreciate you. Thank you. You are the reason I live. You’re the one for me.”
The emotional testimony drew reactions from church members and social media users alike, with many praising the display of marital support and concern.
