Pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries, also known as Grace Nation Liberation City, has once again drawn public attention after opening up about a deeply painful chapter of his personal life involving his failed marriage.
The popular cleric, known for his bold sermons and prophetic declarations, revealed that he once caught his ex-wife in the house with another man, an experience he described as emotionally devastating and life-altering.
His revelation has since triggered widespread reactions across social media platforms, with many Nigerians expressing shock, sympathy, and mixed opinions over the disclosure.
Incident Resurfaces Online
A video currently making rounds online captures the moment Pastor Okafor narrated the heartbreaking incident while addressing members of his congregation during a church service.
The clip, which was shared by popular Instagram blogger Temilola Sobola, quickly went viral and has continued to spark discussions about relationships, marriage, and emotional trauma among religious leaders.
Many viewers noted the emotional tone of the pastor as he spoke, suggesting that the experience still leaves a deep mark on him despite the passage of time.
He Says He Returned Home Unexpectedly
According to Pastor Okafor, the incident happened when he was on a journey and suddenly felt compelled to return home earlier than planned.
He explained that the decision to turn back was unplanned and unexpected, adding that no one at home anticipated his early arrival.
Upon opening the door to his house, he was confronted with a scene that instantly shattered him and changed the course of his marital life forever.
Younger Brother Witnessed the Event
The pastor further disclosed that his immediate younger brother, whom he described as his only biological sibling, was with him at the time and witnessed everything that happened.
To reinforce the authenticity of his account, Pastor Okafor reportedly called his brother to the altar during the service to confirm the story before the congregation.
This moment reportedly left many church members emotional, as the weight of the experience became more evident.
Happened When He Was Just 22/23
Pastor Okafor stated that he was only about 22 or 23 years old when the incident occurred, describing himself as young, inexperienced, and deeply hurt by the betrayal.
He admitted that the discovery broke him emotionally and spiritually, and it took a significant amount of time for him to heal and regain emotional stability.
Reflecting on the situation, he suggested that his ex-wife may have been drawn to his anointing without having a solid Christian foundation to sustain the marriage.
In his words; “We were travelling when something happened, and I asked them to turn back and go to the house. On getting to the house, we were not expected to come back that early. It was me and my immediate younger brother, the only biological brother I have. “When we got home and opened the door, what we saw broke me from that moment. It was the woman I married with another man in the house. How do I say this to the people and the church? “The lady in question, who is my ex-wife, is one of those who got attracted to the anointing without proper Christian foundation. I was 22/23 then. It broke me. It took me time to recover.”
