According to statements circulating in the media, the lawsuit arises from what Pastor Okafor’s legal representatives describe as multiple online offenses allegedly perpetrated by VeryDarkMan in collaboration with a woman identified as Miss Chi. These offenses include “cyber incitement, cyberbullying, cyber harassment, cyberstalking, criminal defamation, and malicious impersonation,” all allegedly aimed at undermining Pastor Okafor’s public image and professional standing.

The statement further notes that the online attacks against Pastor Okafor did not originate recently. They were reportedly instigated earlier by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala and a group referred to as her “cohorts.” The current legal action, however, focuses on VeryDarkMan and Miss Chi for allegedly amplifying and propagating these claims on social media platforms, thereby escalating the situation and causing further reputational damage to the cleric.

In the legal statement, Pastor Okafor’s representatives dismissed Miss Chi’s claims as “laughable” and accused her of fabricating stories with the intent to exploit the pastor’s reputation for personal gain. The counsel emphasized that the lawsuit seeks to hold all parties accountable for the spread of defamatory content and the perpetration of cyber offenses against their client.

The statement from Pastor Okafor’s legal team reads in part: “It has come to our attention that in the public domain there have been acts of cyber incitement, cyber-bullying, cyber harassment, cyber stalking, criminal defamation, and malicious impersonation perpetrated by Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, in conjunction with one Miss Chi. It is also known that the initial acts against our client were carried out by Miss Doris Ogala and her cohorts. Our primary focus in this legal action is on the laughable and calculated story propagated by Miss Chi, which seeks to exploit our client.”

As of the time of this report, neither VeryDarkMan, Miss Chi, nor the other individuals implicated have publicly responded to the filing of the lawsuit, leaving the matter largely pending in the courts. The case is expected to draw significant public and media attention given the high-profile nature of the parties involved and the seriousness of the allegations.

Pastor Chris Okafor’s legal action highlights increasing concerns about cyber harassment, online defamation, and the responsibilities of social media users when making public claims about individuals, particularly public figures. The lawsuit also reflects broader efforts to hold individuals accountable for spreading false narratives and defamatory content online, emphasizing the legal ramifications of such activities in Nigeria.
