Senator Ned Nwoko has reacted strongly to recent social media posts made by his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, addressing claims surrounding access to their children and the state of their family situation.
The lawmaker dismissed suggestions that Daniels had been deliberately prevented from seeing her children, insisting that no such restriction was imposed by him or his family.
According to Nwoko, Daniels’ absence from the children’s daily lives was a personal decision guided strictly by existing court orders and legal procedures, rather than hostility or denial of parental rights.
Court ruling and rehabilitation order
In an official statement released on Tuesday through his communications team and shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Senator Nwoko disclosed that the matter had already been addressed by a competent court of law.
He explained that the court carefully reviewed all submissions and issued specific directives concerning Daniels’ access to the children.
According to the statement, the court ordered Regina Daniels to undergo drug rehabilitation and a formal assessment by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before any visitation or access to the children could be restored.
Nwoko further described Daniels’ recent online remarks as “misleading and inconsistent with long-established family practice.”
“The recent posts by Regina present a version of events that is both misleading and inconsistent with long-established family practice,” the statement read.
“Publicly sharing moments involving the children has never been new, unusual, or controversial within the family,” it added.
The statement also rejected claims that Daniels had been intentionally excluded from the children’s lives, describing such narratives as inaccurate and emotionally charged.
Children’s welfare and stability
Emphasising the welfare of the children, Nwoko stated that they have consistently been raised in a structured environment focused on emotional balance, discipline, and stability.
He stressed that the children’s routine, wellbeing, and mental health remain a top priority for the family.
“Children deserve a parent who is emotionally present, mentally sound, and sober most of the time,” the statement noted.
“This is not an unreasonable expectation; it is the minimum standard of care any parent owes their children,” it added.
The senator’s response followed a public post made by Daniels on Monday, in which she openly spoke about the emotional pain of being separated from her children.
In her message, the actress said no mother could find peace under such circumstances and expressed optimism that she would soon be reunited with them.
“I may be young, but I am such a mum, I enjoy being a mum and I miss being a mum. I will definitely see my kids soon!” she wrote.
Adjournment and compliance call
Providing further clarification, Nwoko referenced the court’s ruling again, stating that the judgment was resolved in his favour with clear and binding instructions.
“The ruling was resolved in favour of Senator Ned Nwoko, with clear directions that Regina Daniels must undergo drug rehabilitation and be assessed by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access can be restored to Munir (5) and Khalifa (3), the children of the marriage,” the statement said.
He added that the matter has been adjourned until 4 February 2026, when the substantive suit will be heard in full.
Nwoko also urged Daniels to comply fully with the court’s directives, cautioning that continued emotional posts on social media could be interpreted as attempts to sway public opinion.
He warned against what he described as “using the children as emotional shields to deflect from unresolved personal issues.”
The senator concluded by expressing hope that the coming months would be used for reflection, recovery, and healing, rather than further online disputes that could negatively affect the children involved.
