Mother causes a stir on their family WhatsApp group after confronting her daughter, Favour, for using the photo of controversial singer Speed Darlington as her WhatsApp profile picture.
The mother, clearly troubled by the choice of DP, took to their family WhatsApp group to express her concerns, even drawing the attention of other family members to what she described as a disturbing act.

In her message, the mother shared a screenshot of Favourβs profile displaying Speed Darlingtonβs photo and began questioning why her daughter chose to use such an image. The matter, which she seemed to take very seriously, sparked a heated conversation within the group.
According to her, she had spent considerable time pondering over what could have influenced her daughter to make such a decision. She described the situation as unsettling and sought the opinions of other family members.
Speaking partly in Igbo, the mother said: βGirls in the house, please have you seen this photo Favour used as her DP? What do you people have to say about this kind of thing? Is it play or has another spirit taken over? Is this a demonic replica of Favour? What is this?! I want to understand. What will make a normal child not use a normal picture? I kept asking myself what has come over my daughter.β
The motherβs reaction, filled with a mix of worry and disbelief, immediately went viral after Favour decided to share screenshots of the chat and the resulting reactions on social media.
Netizens found the situation amusing, with many sharing their thoughts about the dramatic turn of events and even relating it to their experiences with strict African parents.
