Blord recently sparked widespread discussion on social media after providing insight into why the majority of his company’s employees are women, a statement that has now become a trending topic online.
In an interview, Blord explained that societal pressures differ significantly between men and women, and he believes this difference affects workplace behavior, particularly regarding honesty and integrity when handling large sums of money. According to him, men often carry heavier societal and financial pressures, which can influence their decisions at work, while women face comparatively less societal burden, making them, in his view, more reliable in managing resources without resorting to theft.
Blord highlights gender differences in workplace honesty
Blord elaborated that when men work in organizations where millions of naira pass through their hands without stealing, it is usually because they are content with what they already have. He acknowledged that women are not entirely immune to dishonest behavior, but he emphasized that instances of theft among female employees are rare. This, he believes, partly explains why his workforce is predominantly female.
Providing concrete figures to illustrate the scale of operations managed by his female staff, Blord revealed that in 2025 his company disbursed a total of ₦1.1 billion in salaries, averaging roughly ₦90 million per month. This highlights the level of financial responsibility entrusted to his employees, most of whom are women, reinforcing his point about their reliability in handling substantial sums.
Blord stated: “Women face less pressure in society, while men carry most of the pressure in this world. When a man works in an organization where millions of naira pass through his hands without thinking of stealing, it is only because he is content with what he has. Yes, women also steal, but it is very rare compared to men.”
His comments have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some praising his perspective on gender dynamics in the workplace, while others criticized the remarks as sexist or an attempt at self-promotion. Many users noted that the statement also appears to be a way of drawing attention to his company following past controversies involving his brand and public image.
