Lady berates Davido

In a video currently making the rounds on social media, the woman questioned Davido’s decision to associate publicly with Carter Efe, arguing that global superstars should be selective about the platforms they appear on.

According to her, Wizkid has earned her respect because he maintains an aura of exclusivity, rarely appearing in casual online spaces or engaging in what she described as “excessive accessibility.”

She claimed that Davido’s constant visibility, collaborations and public gestures sometimes make him appear desperate for validation, despite his established status in the music industry.

While acknowledging Davido’s kindness and approachability, she insisted that celebrities must occasionally draw firm boundaries in order to protect their image, legacy and brand value.

She further suggested that Davido does not need universal approval, adding that not everyone has to like him for him to remain successful.

Lady expresses dislike for Carter Efe

The lady also took aim at Carter Efe, questioning his cultural relevance and influence. According to her, his style of comedy and online persona do not reflect the kind of image she believes Nigerian culture should promote globally.

She argued that promoting such content creators could send the wrong message about Nigerian entertainment and questioned what values Carter Efe represents.

Her words …

“I love Davido, we’ve been friends for a long time. But then I feel like he does too much sometimes. You need to give yourself that respect, that level sometimes. Who’s Carter Efe? Why are you showing up for Carter Efe, is it because he called out Wizkid the other day, so you want to go and be in the good book of everybody.

Not everybody must like you. He’s always doing stuff so everybody will say oh he’s a good guy. That is why I respect Wizkid. You can’t be everywhere. You’re a star; respect yourself, give yourself some.

I don’t think Carter Efe is the brand we want to promote as a culture. What does he do or represent? Acting like a lun@t!c, pulling his shirt”

As expected, her comments have divided social media users. While some agreed that celebrities should be more selective with their public appearances, others defended Davido, praising him for humility, accessibility and supporting upcoming creatives.

Many fans also countered her claims by noting that Davido’s willingness to uplift others has played a significant role in his popularity and influence across different generations.
