Actress Iyabo Ojo has expressed her distress following the use of teargas on protestors [/b]during the ongoing End Bad Governance protest in Nigeria. The protest, which took place on August 1, 2024, saw numerous Nigerians taking to the streets across the country to protest against famine, poor governance, and other pressing issues.
After the protest began, videos circulated online, and Iyabo Ojo reported a video from Galaxy TV on her official Instagram profile where protestors were manhandled.
The video appeared to show teargas being used on demonstration grounds, and someone speaking behind the camera stated that shots were fired despite the protestors being unarmed.
Iyabo Ojo took to the caption of the post to share her thoughts about the situation. She wrote:
“Why are they throwing teargas 🤷♀️ @nigeriapoliceforce? #peacefulprotest is their right✅️”
