In a video currently making rounds on X, formerly known as Twitter, the fan shared his perspective, clarifying that his intentions were purely out of admiration for Burna Boy and not to cause any harm or disruption.
The young man recounted the series of events, explaining that he had attended Burna Boy’s performance as a devoted fan and decided to run onto the stage during the event. He admitted that his actions were driven by two main reasons.
First, he wanted to express his admiration for Burna Boy by embracing him, seeing it as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with the artist he deeply respects. Secondly, as an aspiring musician, he hoped to get Burna Boy’s attention and possibly gain an opportunity to showcase his talent by performing alongside the renowned artist.
Despite the unfortunate outcome of being kicked off the stage, the fan expressed his understanding of Burna Boy’s reaction, acknowledging that the singer likely acted out of caution and self-defense.
In his words: “I see my videos flying around about what happened between me and Burna Boy on stage. I didn’t mean to harm him; I just wanted to, you know, as a fan, embrace him. I didn’t know it would turn out that way.”
“For those saying I wanted to harm him, that’s not true. I’m also a musician, and I just wanted to use the opportunity to ask for a chance to perform on his stage that day.”
“I’ve been attending Burna Boy’s shows for a very long time. I’m one of his biggest fans, so that’s what happened. I feel so embarrassed, but I don’t blame him because only he knows what was on his mind at that moment.”
