The father of late Afrofuji singer Destiny Boy has made a public appeal to Nigerians after the alleged disappearance of his son’s SUV, barely two days after the young artiste’s untimely death.
The grieving father expressed concern and confusion over the whereabouts of the vehicle, describing the situation as distressing at a time when the family is still mourning the loss of their son.
It would be recalled that on Sunday, 18th January, news made the rounds that the singer had died, throwing fans, colleagues, and social media users into shock and grief.
Destiny Boy’s mother on cause of his demise
Earlier, Destiny Boy’s mother had addressed the public concerning speculations surrounding her son’s death.
According to her, the late singer passed away as a result of epilepsy he had been battling for some time, urging the public to respect the family’s privacy during the painful period.
Father cries out over son’s missing SUV
In a fresh development, Destiny Boy’s father revealed that his son’s SUV is currently missing under unclear circumstances.
He explained that the vehicle, an SUV jeep, was allegedly taken back to the car dealership shortly after his son’s death, and efforts to retrieve it have so far proved unsuccessful.
Speaking emotionally, he stated that the car was purchased from Lycon Autos and that both he and his late son were present during the transaction.
He further disclosed that the dealership provided a driver on the day of purchase to convey the vehicle home, after which Destiny Boy continued to use the same driver for personal errands.
According to him, issues later arose between his son and the driver over unpaid wages, which allegedly led the driver to return the car to the dealership without notifying the family.
He lamented that he does not have the driver’s contact details and claimed that if the SUV had remained within reach, he would have taken possession of it immediately.
He said …
“Nigerians, please help me. My son has a car, and the car is with Lycon Autos. Although the car is not new, it is an SUV jeep. We went together to buy it. Lycon Autos assigned a driver for him that day to bring the car home.
Then Destiny now decided to start using the driver for his personal use. The driver said Destiny owed him, so he took the car back to where we bought it, and I don’t have his number. If the car were to be here, I would have picked it up.”
The appeal has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some sympathizing with the bereaved father while others questioned the circumstances surrounding the vehicle and the family’s priorities following the singer’s death.
