Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has openly expressed appreciation to his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, for stepping forward to address the lingering paternity allegations involving a young girl identified as Anu Adeleke.
Dr. Deji Adeleke Addresses Paternity Claims
Gist Reel reports that Davido’s father convened a press conference to directly confront the controversy that has trailed the alleged child and continued to generate conversations across social media platforms.
During the press briefing, Dr. Adeleke firmly stated that Anu Adeleke is not his granddaughter. He explained that DNA tests had allegedly been conducted in the past, with results showing no biological connection between the Adeleke family and the child in question.
He emphasized that the family has remained silent for a long time out of respect, but felt compelled to speak up due to the persistence of the allegations and the reputational damage being caused.
Allegations Against Investigative Journalist
In addition to addressing the paternity claims, Dr. Adeleke accused controversial investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo of impersonating the minor online in what he described as a deliberate attempt to attack and tarnish Davido’s image.
He questioned how such actions involving a minor could be legally justified and warned that continued publication of unverified claims could amount to defamation. According to him, the Adeleke family is exploring legal options to protect their name and prevent further misinformation.
Davido Expresses Gratitude
Following his father’s public intervention, Davido took to his Instagram story to express heartfelt gratitude for standing by him and addressing the issue head-on.
The award-winning singer simply wrote:
