Media personality Daniel Regha has come under fire for criticizing singer Chike after he gifted N1 million to a troll who mocked him and suggested that Chike's fame was due to his late colleague, Mohbad.
It is worth noting that Chike, an Afropop singer, had collaborated with the late singer on a hit song titled ‘Egwu’, which soared to the top of various streaming platforms before Mohbad's passing.
The troll credited Chike’s success to this song and was unexpectedly rewarded with N1 million by the singer.
In response, Daniel Regha slammed Chike for what he perceived as a misplaced priority and a lack of self-control. Regha emphasized that while Chike chose to reward a troll with a large sum of money, he has not acknowledged or appreciated his long-time fans who have consistently supported and promoted his work.
Regha commented: “Chike gifted a troll N1m but failed to acknowledge fans who have been promoting his craft & projects for God knows how long; What he did isn’t a flex or a show of wealth, that’s a misplaced priority & a complete lack of self-control.”
