Popular skit maker and singer Carter Efe has sparked reactions online after openly calling out Afrobeats superstar Wizkid over what he described as a lack of support, while showering praise on Davido for standing by him at a crucial moment in his career.
The outspoken entertainer made the remarks following a major boost he received after Davido appeared on his livestream and reportedly helped him secure an endorsement deal with luxury beverage brand, Martell, a move that Carter Efe said meant a lot to him.
Carter Efe lambasts Wizkid
In a video making rounds on social media, Carter Efe compared Davido’s show of love and encouragement with what he perceived as Wizkid’s indifference toward him over the years.
He expressed disappointment, claiming that despite the admiration, loyalty, and efforts he believes he extended toward Wizkid in the past, the singer failed to reciprocate or support him when it mattered most.
Carter Efe noted that Davido’s action was a clear example of how artistes should uplift one another, especially those coming up in the industry, adding that such gestures go a long way beyond words.
Carter says Wizkid will pay to appear on his livestream
Taking his criticism a step further, Carter Efe issued a bold and controversial statement, declaring that Wizkid would have to pay a massive fee to appear on his livestream in the future.
According to him, Wizkid would eventually regret not supporting him earlier, stressing that he would no longer offer free access or goodwill to someone he feels overlooked his efforts.
