Popular entrepreneur, BLord has generated massive buzz online after recounting a shocking experience from the early days of building his tech empire. According to him, a teenage hacker once infiltrated one of his app platforms and executed an attack that resulted in a staggering loss of $1.2 million.
BLord shared the story while speaking at SMFest Awka 2025, emphasizing how surprised he was that someone so young could gain access to the system with such skill and precision. He described the hacker as “a very small boy,” noting that the breach exposed serious security vulnerabilities in his company’s infrastructure.

What shocked the audience the most was BLord’s response after catching the teenager. Instead of handing him over to security agencies or pursuing legal punishment, BLord immediately hired him, believing the boy’s talent could be channelled into strengthening the company rather than destroying it.
In his words, he said:
“I lost $1.2 million to hackers on one of my apps. I caught one of the hackers, and instead of handing him over to the police, I employed him to work for me.”
The revelation drew loud reactions from the crowd, with many praising the move as a sign of visionary leadership. Several tech enthusiasts compared the decision to global practices where ethical hackers are recruited to safeguard digital systems.
However, not everyone was convinced.
A segment of the public expressed doubts due to BLord’s past controversies, including previous EFCC investigations and accusations linked to crypto dealings—allegations he has repeatedly denied. For these critics, the story sounded like an attempt to paint himself in a heroic light.
Despite the skepticism, others online applauded the decision, calling it a smart and strategic way to turn a crisis into an opportunity. One viewer commented: “Hiring the hacker instead of arresting him? That’s genius.” Another said: “Hmm… with Blord’s history, I don’t know what to believe again.”
Regardless of differing opinions, the confession quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the event, positioning BLord at the center of discussions on cybersecurity, youth tech talent, and unconventional leadership in Nigeria’s tech space.
