Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh [/b]has shared a deeply personal account of her early spiritual journey, revealing that she once planned to become a pastor before walking away from the path.
She made this known while speaking in a recent livestream video interview, where she opened up about her childhood faith, church involvement, and the inner struggles that shaped her life decisions.

She explained that church was not just a place of worship for her, but a second home where she found guidance, discipline, and spiritual growth.
According to her, the decision to abandon her plans for ministry at the age of 19 did not erase her deep connection to her faith.
She revealed that despite stepping away from becoming a pastor, her relationship with God remained intense and deeply personal.

Dikeh explained that her life experiences, including the challenges and controversies she has faced, were part of a larger divine process meant to shape her into who she is today.

“I’ve always had this calling right from when I was a child. At 19 I was going to be a pastor, until I ran away. I’ve been in church since I left secondary school. So I had always known God intimately and intensely. And I’ve always known I had this calling. If you watch what has happened in my life, it is not ordinary. God called me and needed me to go through all I had to become the firebrand that I am today.”
The actress further hinted that her story is a testimony of grace, growth, and divine purpose, encouraging young people not to give up on their spiritual journey despite life’s challenges.
She noted that setbacks do not cancel destiny, but can sometimes be the tools God uses to build strength and wisdom.
