Nollywood actress, Ashabi Simple has finally broken her silence on the circumstances that led to the arrest of her partner, controversial singer Portable, as she detailed a disturbing confrontation involving her and members of her family.
It would be recalled that news recently broke that Portable had been arrested and taken into police custody following a complaint allegedly filed by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple.
Shortly after the news surfaced, a video began circulating online showing the singer in handcuffs at a police station, visibly emotional as he cried and lamented his situation.
Ashabi Simple breaks silence
Speaking out for the first time, Ashabi Simple explained that the incident occurred during the festive period when Portable allegedly confronted her and her family in a public place.
According to her account, the singer arrived aggressively and threatened them with an axe, creating fear and panic among those present.
She claimed that he forcefully demanded their mobile phones while brandishing the weapon.
In the course of the confrontation, Ashabi alleged that Portable physically assaulted her younger brother, punching him in the eye, an injury she said has yet to heal properly.
She further stated that her sister was also slapped by the singer, allegedly because of something she had posted or said about him online.
Portable accosts her again
Ashabi Simple went on to narrate that even after she attempted to escape from the scene, the situation escalated further.
She claimed that Portable followed her and accosted her again while still holding the axe, intensifying her fear.
According to her, he then brought out a pot, poured water on her, and began chanting incantations in a language she did not understand.
She described the experience as traumatic, stating that she felt unsafe and deeply shaken by the entire episode.
Ashabi noted that her decision to involve the police was not taken lightly but was necessary to protect herself and her family from further harm.
The allegations have since sparked intense reactions online, with many social media users expressing concern and calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.
As of the time of filing this report, Portable has not released an official statement addressing the specific claims made by Ashabi Simple.
