Nigerian content creator, Yemi Elesho says that Afrobeats singer Asake‘s old friends are claiming he has stopped responding to messages.
During the interview with The Echo Room, Yemi Elesho stated that Asake’s friends from his days as a struggling artist are upset with him for leaving them behind after gaining fame.
Elesho, on the other hand, hinted that he understands because the music star is now well-known and the individuals with whom he associates are of a different social class.
The skit-maker, who attended the same institution as Asake, stated that the musician could not afford housing throughout his four years at Obafemi Awolowo institution in Ile-Ife, so he was accommodated by some friends.
He stated it was reasonable for Asake to ignore some of his “old friends” after becoming stardom.
Elesho said; “Asake is big and a lot of his friends are complaining that he doesn’t reply to their direct messages, but me I no send am DM because I know say e no go reply. E don big!
“The kind of people he mingles with is different, he’s big already. He sees new people every day, people wey get level. Naturally, he can’t carry everybody along.”
