The incident, which quickly gained attention online and within the industry, raised concerns about safety, professionalism, and proper conduct on movie sets, prompting the three major guilds to take decisive action.

AGN President Emeka Rollas explained that the decision was made out of responsibility, compassion, and a strong desire to restore peace, order, and trust within Nollywood after what he described as an unfortunate incident.

Speaking further, he emphasised that the industry operates like a family, and any action taken by the guilds must safeguard the wellbeing, dignity, and safety of all its members, regardless of rank or status.

According to the joint statement dated 27 November 2025, the three guilds convened emergency meetings, reviewed video evidence, written statements, and witness testimonies obtained by their disciplinary committees before reaching a final conclusion on the matter.

After a thorough investigation, they concluded that Taiye Arimoro was the primary aggressor in the incident that took place during the course of production.

He was found to have assaulted the production manager and the driver, and circulated a misleading live video that misrepresented the events [/b]and falsely implicated Peggy Ovire, who was confirmed to not have been present when the initial altercation occurred on set.

The guilds also clarified that the director, production manager, and other crew members involved in the production were cleared of any wrongdoing after careful review of the evidence laid before the committees.

As part of the disciplinary measures, Taiye Arimoro has been suspended indefinitely from all Nollywood productions until further notice.

In addition to the suspension, he is required to issue a public apology to the production manager, Peggy Ovire, and the director, acknowledging his actions and the distress caused.

He must also release a corrective video clarifying the actual sequence of events to correct public misconceptions and address the misleading impressions created by his earlier live video.

Furthermore, he has been directed to return to the set and complete his remaining scenes in Pieces of Love under supervised conditions, while also complying fully with any additional instructions that may be issued by the three guilds.

The guilds also addressed the role of producer Peggy Ovire in the matter.

While stating that she was not involved in the initial confrontation, the joint statement noted that her emotional reaction at the estate gate later contributed to the escalation of tension outside the filming location.

As a result, she has been directed to write official apology letters to the three guilds, apologise to the estate management, and submit a written undertaking committing herself to better personnel management, conflict resolution, and adherence to professional standards on future production sets.

The guilds described these actions as necessary steps to maintain discipline, accountability, and professionalism within Nollywood, stressing that no individual is above the rules governing the industry.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to creating a safe and respectful environment for actors, directors, producers, and crew members, adding that misconduct of any kind would continue to attract appropriate sanctions.
